Scholarships

For many students, participation in music at RMS is the start of a musical journey that carries them through high school and beyond. Richardson Music Boosters is honored to support the accomplishments of our most outstanding alumni through the Richardson Music Boosters Scholarship. The number of recipients and award amounts are determined by the executive board each year.

Every year, we receive applications from students who “wow” us with their contributions to the community, musical accomplishments, and academic excellence. We wish we could award scholarships to all of them! We know all of these students are going to be successful in their chosen colleges and careers, and the Richardson Music Boosters and Ms. Willett are proud to have been part of their musical journeys.

For the 2022-2023 school year,

the Richardson Music Boosters scholarship winners were

Dashiell Modesitt-Wong and Shreen Al-Absi.

Congratulations to these phenomenal students!

Dashiell Modesitt-Wong

Dashiell has succeeded in a rigorous academic schedule while also juggling marching band, the South High soccer team, and club soccer, as well as CSF and National Honor Society. He took on leadership roles including FRAM soccer team captain and Marching Band tuba section leader, where he embraced the opportunity to be a positive role model for others. Dashiell’s application showed a deep commitment to excellence in everything he does. Dashiell has been accepted to the US Naval Academy where he plans to study aviation or engineering.

Shreen Al-Absi

Shreen impressed us with her dedication to service and community. She devoted countless hours to a local food bank throughout high school, helping children and families in need. Shreen also took on several leadership roles at South High, including positions in Marching Band and French Club, and demonstrated a consistent work ethic both in and out of the classroom. She participated in jazz band throughout high school and is looking forward to continuing her musical journey in college. Shreen will be attending California State University Dominguez Hills in the fall pursuing a major in psychology and plans to explore her passion for music by minoring in a field related to music.
